On September 23, 2026, the fourth competition day of the swimming events at the 20th Asian Games, Shenzhen University student Peng Xuwei (Class of 2026, Master of Sports) won the gold medal in the women's 100-meter backstroke, completing a double championship in both the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke at this Asian Games. She is also the reigning champion in both the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke at two consecutive National Games. Dong Zhihao (Class of 2024, Sports Training; final, breaststroke) and Cheng Yujie (Class of 2023, Sports Training; preliminary round, freestyle) won the gold medal in the mixed 4×100-meter medley relay.

At this Asian Games, nine current Shenzhen University students are competing in the swimming events. As of the fourth competition day, they have won a total of 7 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, with eight students having won Asian Games gold medals.
